Chief Gary L. Weiss served as the Deputy Fire Chief of the South Walton Fire District as well as the Fire Chief of Mulberry, both of which are located in Florida. Now retired, Gary Weiss has served since 1979 as a firefighter, paramedic, engineer, and Company Officer of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. There he received the Golden Palm Award and several other decorations. His writings have appeared in “Firehouse,” “Fire Engineering,” “Florida Fire Service Today,” and “The Dublin Fire Brigade Magazine.”
Chief Gary Weiss is a graduate from Columbia Sounthern University with a Masters Degreee in Occupational Safety & Health, and an Associate Degree in Fire Science from Palm Beach Community College. Chief Weiss is a 2001 graduate from the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program (EFOP), a Florida Certified Emergency Manager as well as obtaining the Chief Fire Officer Designation (CFOD) from the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Chief Weiss is a Governor appointee to Florida’s State Emergency Response Commission for Hazardous Materials.
Chief Weiss brings with him a wealth of knowledge and over 27 yearsnexperience in Fire Service, Emergency Management, and leadership skills.
